Hey everyone,
Quick update on True Recall. I didn't expect this level of interest honestly. After my release post, my DMs exploded, people started joining the Discord, sending feature requests, bug reports, ideas. I'm still catching up with messages and I really appreciate every single one of them.
Just to be transparent, True Recall is my side project. I have a regular job and I'm building this in my free time, evenings and weekends mostly. But seeing how many of you actually use it daily keeps me going, so I'm trying to push updates as fast as I can.
Here's what's new:
Note Review - you can now review entire notes as flashcards, not just individual cards. Toggle it from the Flashcard Panel or command palette, and the full note renders in Obsidian's live preview during review. Formatting, links, embeds, everything works. It's scheduled by FSRS just like regular cards. You can also control whether YAML frontmatter is shown or stripped.
Knowledge Base - you can index your entire vault and ask questions in the Knowledge Chat. It searches your notes semantically and uses agentic tool calls to pull relevant context before answering. Think of it as a RAG over your personal knowledge base, fully native inside Obsidian. To work with this you need to create an account, later I want to add it to BYOK. Simple if you have more notes it takes more tokens for indexing, less notes = cheaper.
Selection Toolbar - choose which buttons appear in the editor and global toolbars, drag them to reorder, and add any custom Obsidian command you want. The floating toolbar now works outside the editor too. Sidebars, reading view, terminal, wherever you select text. Two new toolbar actions. Note+ creates a new note from your selection with a folder picker and optional project assignment. Append adds the selection to the current note.
Anki Import with field mapping - you can now manually map Anki note types and individual fields to True Recall equivalents before importing, so nothing gets lost in translation
Dashboard project management - right-click context menu on projects with export, sub-project creation, move children, dissolve, and delete actions
Custom review keybindings — remap Space, Again, Hard, and Easy keys in settings however you want
Claude Code integration — download the CLI skill from settings to use True Recall directly from Claude Code

What specifically are you asking for? It looks like they're automated tests failing that need to be resolved.
